Lake Time!

It's almost time for my favorite part of the year...lake season!

Will and I are headed out to the lake for a few days tomorrow for the first time this year. I can't tell you how much I am looking forward to it. At the lake, I always get my best reading done. Plus, to be in an area with limited electronics, no internet, and limited cell signal is always a good way to reconnect with people. 

Ready for a few days of peace and quiet before we come back to Greenville to celebrate Easter and the resurrection of our Lord Jesus at Renewal's Easter service. Feel free to join us at Mitchell Road Elementary School at 8:30 for breakfast, or 10:00 for Easter service. 

It is certainly shaping up to be a wonderful weekend!

Company Retreat, Part 2!

When we woke up Saturday morning of the retreat, we were treated to a beautiful blanket of snow as well as some snow flurries. 

The first order of business was some team building. 

We broke into functional groups and our task was to sell the other groups capabilities to our boss for him to select HTI to work with. 

Each group approached it differently. Some chose to act like other people in the office. Our sales & marketing team treated the activity like an over the top As Seen on TV commercial. 

As you can see, all of the performances were hilarious!

Then, during the afternoon, we continued with an Olympic competition including pool.

A little ping pong was also in order, as well as basketball, a marshmallow catching game, and a little afternoon flip cup!

After playing so hard all afternoon, Steven and Herb made us all a tasty dinner of steak and chicken!

Then we rounded out the night with a little Mad Libs action. 

  One of the girls had an app on her phone and it was super funny to sit around and play. 

The next day, we packed up and headed home. This is Katie, Courtney, and me on the ride home!

This was a great experience and I can't wait til the next retreat!

Company Retreat, Part 1

A few weeks ago, a division of our company went on a corporate retreat. I was asked a few months ago to help plan it, and it was a great experience.

We went to a place simply called "The Camp". Probably because that name up there is a little hard to pronounce. About 22 people from our company came up to spend the weekend doing a little teambuilding and socializing. 

First order of business, get the boss man to build you a fire!

Then, set up welcome packages for everyone! As you can see, we weren't exactly roughing it.

After dinner, clearly the next step is to figure out how the heck to play pictionary. Boys vs. girls of course.

Final aspect of the night? Hang out and have fun! Herb and Leisa have it down!

Spring Cleaning

Ok, so I may have gone a bit overboard here.

 

 In my defense, Will and I have been in our house for 17 months. This is the longest we have ever lived anywhere. And with that, comes dirt. And dust. And the need for some intense spring cleaning.

Every other place we have been for a year or a few months and we deep clean as we are moving out. But here, we are here to stay, at least for the foreseeable future. And to those ends, we need to spring clean up in this place.

That means moving beds and vacuuming sofa cushions. Washing duvet covers and wiping down blinds. Window washing and serious dusting. It also means through a few hours of Google-ing, I created a 5 page list of chores for this season.

 

 Whoops.

This weekend, I tackled the master bath and bedroom, and while it was disgusting to see the sheer amount of dust under our bed, it feels so awesome to have it gone!

I'll be working on this for the next few weekends, and then I can get to some fun new projects I have had my eye on!

Tiny Miracles

Those of you who have known me for any amount of time know that I love my cousins! My aunt and uncle have been blessed to welcome two children through the miracle of adoption. This week, we got another surprise miracle and they welcomed their third child!
